I read a lot of western books, but this Last Ride is the best I have read in s long time. The characters came alive and were real. Lots of adventure and mystery. Could not put it down til it was finished.Looking forward to reading more of this author's books.
Hopf has stepped outside of his usual genre here of late and I am not dissapointed. I am one of these guys that grew up reading and watching westerns and this takes me back. Very enjoyable read and I am hoping to read more about Abby.
This was one of the best westerns I have read since Louis L'Amour. It made me want to keep reading and indeed kept me up most of the night. I highly recommend it to those who love westerns.
I am a rather hard critic I guess. But I found the storyline of a 17-year-old female bounty hunter with three kills highly improbable. Then sprinkled throughout was 21rst century speech, each occurrence detracting from the whole. None of the characters are easy to root for and the worse villain goes scot free. I don't like the characters enough to read another in the series.
What's not to like? Action, adventure, blood, revenge...Hopf tested the waters and then mastered them. From post-apoc to the wild west; He answered the call.
One of my favorite books ever! I started to read this author’s western books because I loved his other books. I will admit, it was the first westerns I’ve read but this one really blew me away. It has the perfect mixture of adventure and a storyline that make you FEEL life. I really hope there are more books. I LOVE Abby.
This is the first I have read of this genre in many years but it certainly will not be the last if this book is any indication. This book is timed in the past but much of it's direction is timeless. Cannot wait to read the remaining books in this series. A great writer who leaves us wanting more.
This book kept me reading for more although at first I didn’t get the scattered development of characters. But I thoroughly enjoyed it. Wish there was more to this story!!!!
