This book highlights the need for pastors to prioritize their families over their ministries. Starting with the failed example of George Whitefield, William Carey, and John Wesley, the author builds a tight case. For all married men in pastoral ministry, I highly recommend.
Excellent, helpful reminders for the pastor, his wife, and his family. Thankful to have come across this treasure.
I have benefited from Brian Croft's ministry to pastors, especially through his website Practical Shepherding! As a pastor, I found this book on the pastor's family challenging and encouraging. My wife and I read it together and spent time talking through various things we encountered in the book. I would encourage every pastor and pastor's wife to take time to read through this book together.
As an experienced pastor, I resonated with many insights the Crofts bring forth. Many of these were learned the hard way by me in earlier years. I would, perhaps, have learned them quicker and with less collateral damage if I had read and heeded such words in my initial years in ministry. Highly recommended, especially to any just starting on their pastoral journey.
